You can tell from Donna Hall's frosty comments on this site that she sees the Friends of Lever Park as an annoyance.

And yet her own officers have very close, friendly relationships with organisations like United Utilities and Go Ape.

Who do they represent, the commercial interests of UU and Go Ape or the people of this area?

By choosing United Utilities and Go Ape over the people of the area, you have to start to question the professionalism and decision making processes of Chorley Council.

What does Paul Whittingham mean when he says that Chorley Borough Council are receiving lots of complaints about the Go Ape approval mainly in connection with the tree felling but nothing to do with the application? My complaint to Chorley Borough Council had everything to do with the application, it is a totally unsuitable site for Go Ape and should never have been approved. The fact that they have felled healthy trees without permission is an additional reason for objecting. Am I stupid or is there some underhand and nefarious dealings going on here between Chorley Borough Council and United Utilities? And another worrying point is the proviso on the Council's website for planning applications which says, and I quote, "For reasons of confidentiality, Chorley Borough Council may choose not to display certain Planning Applications". I hope that worries a lot more people than just me.

If the documents are in the public domain, then why do we need to make an appointment to see Paul Whittingham in-order to view them.
Is this practice in place regarding viewing other planning applications.
With respect,if a member of the public wants information from the one stop shop, they shouldn't need permission to view it.
You mention that I was offered a meeting with Paul Whittingham to find the data, please refresh my memory as to when this offer took place.

Mr Dootson - the planning application and all the associated documents are in the public domain as you are aware. I don't know what you are trying to find in our One Stop Shop but you were offered a meeting with Paul Whittingham to try to help you find the data you need. Again - you declined a meeting which could have helped iron out the issues.

Hi Everyone,

I hope you all had a good Christmas and that individually and as a group a Happy New Year will be had.

I just wondered, bearing in mind Kathleen's problem voting, if anyone else is having problems emailing?

My email programme won't let me send emails to mail@leverpark.co.uk. Well, it did once, but now it is at it again. As a result, I have sent my mail direct to the person who replied to me on the one that went through (no names no pack drill).

Thanks,

Anne Davies

It sounds like Chorley Council is giving United Utilities a right telling-off for felling the trees and landing them in a heap of trouble!

I don't want to read between the lines too much but I am concerned that the relationship between Chorley and UU is too close.

Chorley needs to make sure it doesn't get too friendly with United Utilities or Go Ape. They need to remember that they primarily represent us, and commercial interests are secondary.

Chorley's communications with the Friends of Lever Park have always been frosty (to say the least). They need to show the same commitment to working with the ordinary people of Chorley, not just with the commercial interests of UU and Go Ape.

Hi David

I am retired, and the only computer I use is in my home, also because I live alone no one has access to my computer. Also I don't have any problems voting on other issues on other websites.

Best wishes
Kathleen
