It appears that Rivington is famous on the internet, and certainly on Dutch TV.
Re: Council cuts down 6,000 trees to act as deterrent at ‘doggin

More likely either a councillor or council officer run a logging business and they needed the work or in the alternative they run a log cabin related business and want to build a load of log ‘duck houses’. I believe they are all the rage with our corrupt MPs. To find out what the truth is you need to follow the trees and identify which councillor or officer has their finger in any of the businesses that handled the trees. Rivington nr Chorley, Lancs is the capital of organised doggin championships in this country, with TV rights to next year’s event being negotiated with a Dutch Satellite TV station. Is that what they mean by Go Ape in Chorley?
I don’t get it… They cut down all the trees to stop dogging, then they say: “We are re-planting the area with natural broad leaf trees”.
Do broad leaf trees offer less cover for nefarious activities?
