Proposed Planning Application
Oct 30th, 2009 by bobdootson
We have been notified by go-ape that they intend to submit a planning application for another zip wire which will run from tree 411 (stockade at primary school end) taking a E.S.East route towards the bridle path. They say that the new zip wire will be approx 50 metres in length.
They intend to submit the plans during the week beginning the 16th Nov/09 , they have also asked us to let them know if there is anyone else we feel should be notified. We have replied respectfully stating that it not for us to tell them the requirements of a planning application within Lever Park.
When the plans have been submitted, we will be calling a meeting of “Friends of Lever Park” supporters, and hopefully we will also be in a position to bring the supporters upto date on the LGO investigation and the ICO investigation.
We have just recieved notification that the Local Government Ombudsman still haven’t completed their investigation and will contact us again in the near future.
Also the Information Commissioners Office have also this week contacted us to set out the format of their investigation.
I am aware that some members are concerned that we have not been having a meeting. I can fully understand their concerns, but I can assure everyone that when we have something possitive to put before them,a meeting will be called without hesitation.
Since we recieved the LGO provisional view in July, we sent a strong letter of rejection followed by 14 letters of concern accompanied with letters of support from Lindsay Hoyle’s office.
If these letters of concern are ignored, then it’s time to seriously consider for what purpose the LGO exist.
I always believed that the Ombudsman was there to support the right and correct the wrong, believe me that is not how it works.
But I’m a firm believer that if you bang hard and long enough on a door, somebody will eventually answer it.
When this planning app is submitted will Chorley Council put it on their planning website for the general public to view or will they as they say in the small print “For reasons of confidentiality Chorley Borough Council , may choose not to display certain planning applications”
Could be very interesting !!
Well it was not in the published planning app’s last week ! Might be next week or is that wishful thinking !
