Thanks for the mention, David. We’re a bit stressed down under.
It’s good advice about The Ashes! Ponting looked suitably battered and bruised on the TV last night – very symbolic.
I’m dredging up a very old post here, but I want to pass on the good news from Sydney.
Our council finally met this week and REFUSED the Go Ape application to construct a course in Bidjigal Reserve!
We can’t yet shout “we won!!!”, as Go Ape have 12 months (!) in which to lodge an appeal with our Land and Environment Court. However, the fact that Council refused development consent is a huge step. The words “does not comply” can look very good.
Many thanks for the moral and practical support you provided when we first started our campaign. I wish you all the best in your current endeavours in Lever Park.

Well done Dianne, good news indeed! The fight to preserve areas of peace and tranquillity goes on all over the world. Perhaps local democracy is stronger in Australia!
