The question I keep asking myself is ” How long was it going to be ,before this information was made public ?”.
When you go on these committee’s, do you have to swear to some form of silence.
That to me is sad, nodding dog comes to mind.
No-body seems prepared to rock the boat, and upset the establishment.
This is the 21st century, you no-longer get thrown in the dungeon for speaking your mind.

Cllr Rock has confirmed that the plans are now on hold.

In an email today he said “I can tell you that the traffic plans are on hold at the moment but have not been abandoned there is a large amount of money required to fund this and UU are keeping us updated at further meetings”

So we can’t afford to relax!

Great News! Well done to Bob and the committee!

I’m also concerned that these two groups don’t disclose their agenda or minutes. I contacted the chair of Rivington Heritage Trust and asked for the minutes, but they were refused.

As I understand it, the Freedom of Information act doesn’t cover these shadowy groups. My view is that any group that includes elected councillors should be willing to make its proceedings public – or the councillors should withdraw from the group.

Generally, the events of the last 12 months have proved that the people of Bolton and Chorley have almost no input into the running of the park. This must not be allowed to continue!

I have previously asked Steve Rock (a local councillor who sits on the group) for information. I will contact him now and ask for clarification.
