Why is it that honest decent people who care about the enviroment are pushed about by greedy ruthless organisations ? All they care about is making vast sums of money. If it means chopping trees down to make money- they will do it.If it means covering Rivington in concrete to make money- they will do it.Maybe it will take a serious accident before someone, somewhere will do something.I seem to remember U.U.taking all the rustic play equipment away which was near the old castle, why?because of health and safety concerns. The mind boggles.

You do need to visit the site to see the destruction all in the name of profit.
Take stock of how many area's a member of the public could be decapitated by the wires used for the development.
United Utilities have said they are not responsible for any injury caused to the member of the public.
There is a serious health and safety risk here, and I don't understand why this is not being addressed.
Does someone have to be killed here, before the authorities do something about it.
Lever Park cannot be fenced off, don't forget what the Act says "Free and uninterrupted use by the public"
Or will they try something pathetic, and put notices up saying "ENTER THIS AREA AT YOUR OWN RISK"
We can walk and picnic anywhere in that area, and untill they change the 1902 Act that is exactly what we should all do.

For those who havn't been down recently, these photos are just a sample of what is developing as GoApe look to complete the course in time for the planned opening late March . What you don't see here is the flagrant disregard for health and safety in their working practices, zip wires suspended at a height that could garrot someone with barrier tape tied to it, can it be seen in the dark? These people must be stopped, it's a travesty. Where are the people we entrust through voting to protect Lever Park. Show yourselves now and lets see what you are made of.
In the mean time we must all be vigilant and ensure that the remaining trees are protected from felling by keeping a close lookout.
