What does Paul Whittingham mean when he says that Chorley Borough Council are receiving lots of complaints about the Go Ape approval mainly in connection with the tree felling but nothing to do with the application? My complaint to Chorley Borough Council had everything to do with the application, it is a totally unsuitable site for Go Ape and should never have been approved. The fact that they have felled healthy trees without permission is an additional reason for objecting. Am I stupid or is there some underhand and nefarious dealings going on here between Chorley Borough Council and United Utilities? And another worrying point is the proviso on the Council’s website for planning applications which says, and I quote, “For reasons of confidentiality, Chorley Borough Council may choose not to display certain Planning Applications”. I hope that worries a lot more people than just me.
You can tell from Donna Hall’s frosty comments on this site that she sees the Friends of Lever Park as an annoyance.
And yet her own officers have very close, friendly relationships with organisations like United Utilities and Go Ape.
Who do they represent, the commercial interests of UU and Go Ape or the people of this area?
By choosing United Utilities and Go Ape over the people of the area, you have to start to question the professionalism and decision making processes of Chorley Council.
