Why should we have to have this operation imposed upon us by United Utilities and Chorley Council which is purely for profit. Unfortunately we live in a world were some are so ruthless where money is concerned and they will do anything to make a quick buck. Including destroying the lives of our wild creatures. United Utilities and Chorley Council should hang their heads in shame for going against the wishes of Lord Lever and for attempting to hoodwink the local people by approving the Go Ape experience behind their backs. I agree that we need woodland management but this isn't woodland management, how can it be? when the very nature of this theme park damages trees and the homes of our wild creatures. Also how sad that the adults of the UK, take their children to this type of theme park, knowing full well that wild creatures have suffered for their enjoyment and trees and other plant life has been destroyed. Its little wonder that some children have no respect for the countryside and its creatures. You could not pick a worse time If you tried.Nor would they they approve of mature trees being chopped down,some Mr Kidd with bat boxes still attached.You try to tell us you are all for protecting wildlife.You`re Idea of conservation leaves a lot to be desired.As other people have stated,Go Ape Is aimed at adults.Firms use these sort of activities to offset thei`re tax, by calling them team building and bonding exercises.There are plenty of playgrounds [for children] dotted about the county with similer features as Go Ape,i.e.zip wires and climbing equipment, perfectly safe and best of all, FREE, Mr Kidd FREE, don`t treat us like Idiots. The reason we like the area is precisely because it is unspoiled,the reason United utilities want Go Ape,is for financial gain,pure and simple. I think I speak for the vast majority of people by giving my views. I, and many others will continue to oppose the commercialisation of Lever Park.
