The King of Sunlight

I’ve just finished re-reading The King of Sunlight by Adam Macqueen - an excellent biography of William Hesketh Lever. The book has plenty of information about Lever’s early life, his plans for Lever Park and the background to the disputes with Liverpool Corporation. Horwich Library have a copy, or you can order from Amazon here.
By a strange quirk the book was reviewed on BBC Radio 4′s A Good Read today and was recommended by Patricia Routledge. Here’s the link to the radio program on the BBC’s iPlayer
